You are also within your rights to negotiate the price. If you have a reasonably new unused vehicle you will be in a good position. This means that legal responsibility for the vehicle no longer resides with you. This is important as otherwise you will still be responsible for anything that vehicle is used for. You will also want to make sure they destruct your vehicle in an environmentally friendly manner.
Of course making large quantities of money on end of life or unused vehicles is unlikely. Scrap yards simply provide an incentive to help vehicle owners not abandon them.
