General motors – SUV cars
General motors is the second largest automaker in the existing stage. This is considered to be the world largest corporate. It had the huge distinction of being the world?s largest selling automaker for 77 consecutive years, but the distinction eventually came to an end in 2007 due to the decreasing shares of the company. The company was loosing out in the sales of the leading cars. SUV is an important part of the general motors business that accounted to more profits than by selling any other cars. It would be possible to achieve a profit between $10,000 and $15,000. Recently, the sales of the sports utility vehicles have dropped down remarkably due to the increasing costs of the fuels. One of the sports utility vehicles producing unit has been shut permanently to compensate for the huge losses that has been occurring. The company was about to file for the chapter 13 bankruptcy when the US government intervened and came forward to provide bail out packages to help in the survival of the company. It is estimated that the company has lost around $18.8 billion dollars. Some of the SUV of the general motors includes the Chevrolet Tahoe, Chevrolet suburban, GMC moraine, GMC Yukon.
Chevrolet suburban- a large SUV
The Chevrolet suburban is a large sized sports utility vehicle that has the reputation of being the longest produced car in the industry, it is still under production. This car has undergone many enhancements and developments to satisfy the requirements of the people. The interior of the vehicle has been enriched in the recent times to offer excellent aesthetics to ensure great luxury within the vehicle space. There are special cabinets inside the car to lodge several units that will provide rich appearance. The same version of the car was marketed in Australia and New Zealand which features the right handed driving version. Initially the material used to make these cars was under criticism due to the poor quality. Later, there were large efforts taken to improve the quality of the materials used to make the cars. The transmission comes under the 4 speed automatic type. The length and the width of the car offer great looks. The 7.4 L vortec engine type is the latest version.
GMC envoy
This was released in the year 2002 as a luxury version of the jimmy 1998 model. The safety features in this car is the biggest highlight. In the year 2003, the GMC envoy XUV was produced that boasts to have the combined features of the pickup truck and the SUV. This car had many features that were not present in the previous versions of the car. The presence of the exterior mirrors with heating capability, front seat heating and Bose audio systems were all the highlights. There was also the additional facility such as the powered moon roof, differential locking system and powered seat in the front portion of the car. This car was phased out from the production in the mid 2009 and is succeeded by the GMC acadia and the GMC terrain.
